By submitting an application or by accepting an invitation to the Magpie private beta, you (the Participant) agree to these terms. They sit alongside the Privacy Policy — both are binding while you participate in the beta.
- It's a beta. Magpie is experimental software with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or feature stability. Bugs, mis-OCR'd receipts, data loss, or service interruptions may occur. Treat Magpie as a tool that helps with expense tracking, not as a system of record for finances or taxes.
- Your data. You consent to Magpie processing your receipts, messages, and metadata as described in the Privacy Policy. The privacy policy is binding and is incorporated by reference into these terms. If anything below conflicts with the privacy policy, the privacy policy wins.
- No fee, no SLA. This beta is free to participate in. There is no service-level agreement. The operator may pause, throttle, or end the beta at any time, with or without notice.
- Honest feedback. You will give honest, good-faith feedback roughly every two weeks during the beta. If you stop responding for an extended period, the operator may remove you from the beta and delete your data per the privacy policy.
- Don't share access. Your approval code, the bot's Telegram handle, and any invite link are personal to you. Do not share, post, forward, or resell them. Do not impersonate the operator or other testers.
- Don't redistribute. Don't copy, fork, mirror, reverse-engineer, decompile, or republish Magpie's code, prompts, configuration, or interfaces. Magpie's source is published under a personal-use licence; participating in the beta does not change that licence.
- Beta posture. Sharing screenshots is welcome — confirmation cards,
/reporttotals,/chatanswers, whatever you find genuinely useful to show. A tag (@hellomagpieapporhellomagpie.app) helps the operator see what landed. What stays under wraps for now: the bot's Telegram handle and any direct invite link (the beta is invite-only because we're onboarding in waves — point interested friends athellomagpie.appto apply), and pitching Magpie as a finished product to people who'd resent finding a bug. - Your right to leave. You may withdraw from the beta at any time. Send
/deletemyaccount CONFIRMto the bot to erase your data immediately; matching backup snapshots age out within 30 days. The operator may also revoke your beta access at any time, without notice, at sole discretion. - Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, the operator's liability for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your use of Magpie during this beta is limited to the amount you have paid the operator for Magpie — which is zero. The beta is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Singapore. If any clause here is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Questions about these terms can go to [email protected] or to the Magpie bot directly.
