Snap a receipt. Get a tidy ledger.
The AI receipt tracker that reads photos, voice notes & PDFs — your money’s personal secretary, on call 24/7 to answer anything you ask.
You've tried tracking your spending. A spreadsheet, an app, a note. By month two you'd given up — because it was a second job.
Magpie's bet: tracking only sticks if it takes zero effort. So that's the whole design.
Four ways in. Zero friction.
No app to install, no forms — iPhone or Android, Magpie lives in the Telegram you already use.
Snap a photo
Any receipt, any language — faded thermal to glossy A4.
Say it out loud
A voice note when you didn't grab the receipt.
Forward a PDF
Digital receipts from Lazada, airlines, hotels.
Just type it
/spend 5.50 laksa — for cash & hawker.
Didn't grab the receipt?
Just say it.
Press the mic and talk like a human — "lunch at Tian Tian, twelve sixty." Magpie transcribes it, understands the amount, the place and the date, and hands you the same confirmation card as a photo.
- Knows "five dollars" means SGD in Singapore — not USD.
- Captures the spend you'd otherwise forget by the time you got home.
- Same one-tap Confirm / Edit / Split card — nothing new to learn.
Stop wondering
"is this a good price?"
Every receipt quietly teaches Magpie what you pay. Ask /price milk and it shows every price it's seen — so you catch creep, and buy where it's cheapest.
- Spot it the moment a regular buy creeps up.
- See which shop was cheapest, and when.
- No spreadsheets — it builds itself from your receipts.
Paid for the table?
File only your share.
Tap 💸 Split on any receipt, pick the headcount, and Magpie files your portion — so your budget and reports stay honest, not inflated by the whole group's dinner.
- 2 to 100 people, or a custom number.
- Works on photos, voice, PDFs — every receipt.
- Per-item splitting on the way — pick the dishes that were yours.
It's not a database.
It's a conversation.
Magpie actually understands your spending. Ask it anything in normal words and it answers from your real receipts — currencies, trips, habits and all. No filters, no pivot tables.
Every currency.
One home total.
Yen in Tokyo, baht in Bangkok, euros in Lisbon — Magpie reads the currency off the receipt, converts at the day's rate, and rolls it all into your home-currency total. "Five dollars" in Singapore means SGD, not USD.
- 19 currencies, auto-detected — ¥ € £ ₩ ฿ and more.
- One trip, many currencies, one number you understand.
- Works anywhere Telegram does — not locked to one country's wallet.
Private by default.
Yours to control.
Your receipts are yours. Hosted for you in Singapore during the beta — never sold, never used to train AI. And you can pull everything out, or wipe it for good, in one command. No lock-in.
- Export everything as a ZIP, any time — one command.
- Delete everything, any time — PDPA right to erasure, honoured instantly.
- Your receipts are never used to train models. PDPA-built, Singapore-hosted.
More than a shoebox of receipts.
Once your spending's flowing in, Magpie quietly does the rest.

The bits people ask about.
Why is it better than the expense app I quit?+
Because there's nothing to open. You already live in Telegram — snap, say, forward or type, and you're done in seconds. The reason tracking fails is friction, and Magpie removes it. That's the whole point.
Where does my data actually live?+
During the beta, your receipts live as plain Markdown notes on Magpie's host in Singapore — not on a third-party expense-app cloud. It's the open Obsidian format, so you can export the whole vault into your own Obsidian whenever you want, or delete every trace, any time. Nothing's locked in, and it's never used to train AI.
Do I need Obsidian to use it?+
No. Magpie stores everything in Obsidian's Markdown format, but you never have to open Obsidian — the bot does the work. Export whenever you like and drop the vault into Obsidian for the search-and-graph view, or just read the plain-text files in any editor.
Is it private? What about the AI?+
PDPA-built and Singapore-hosted. Receipts are sent to an AI model only to read them, and are never used to train anything. The full privacy notice spells out every sub-processor.
What does it cost?+
The private beta is free. Paid tiers (higher limits, CSV import, email-in) come later — beta testers get a heads-up first.
How do I get in?+
It's a small private beta so feedback stays close and the experience stays polished. Apply below and we'll be in touch.
